Dear 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade students’ parents and family,
We are pleased to invite you to support your son/daughter, or family member at the 26th Annual Wallace and Priscilla Stevenson Intermediate School Track Meet. The WPSIS PE Staff will host this year’s track meet for the 4th graders on June 9, 2022 from 12:35-2:45pm and on June 10, 2022 for 5th and 6th grade 12:35-2:45 pm at Bruin Stadium. Seating for parents will be in the Bruin Stadium, only volunteers will be allowed on the field.
Each student can compete in two individual events. In addition, students may choose to compete in a 4x100 relay during the meet, or the mile run which will be held during their PE class. Ribbons for 1st-8th place will be awarded within a week following the meet and delivered to homeroom teachers.
Regardless of the weather conditions, the track meet will be held as scheduled so students should dress appropriately. It is also recommended that students have a water bottle.
Starting next week May 16, We will be teaching each event in PE classes. These are the events students can compete in:
4th grade- Shot put, Frisbee throw, Mini Jav, Long Jump, Hurdles, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 4x100 relay and the mile.
5/6th graders-Shot put, discus, Mini Jav, Long Jump, High Jump, Hurdles, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 4x100 relay and the mile.
Tentative track meet schedule is as follows:
4th Grade:-June 9th
12:35-2:45pm
5th & 6th Grades:-June 10th
12:35-2:45pm
