Students

Jeanette Burkhardt from the Yakama Nation Fisheries presented to fourth graders in October about the invasive Tree of Heaven and the spotted lanternfly, which can negatively affect agriculture. Some of the students chose to use Genius Hour time in their 4th grade classroom to design projects that will spread awareness about this issue. Tova Tillinghast from the Underwood Conservation District and Jeanette work with students each week on these projects. They've presented to the Rotary Club and plan to present to the White Salmon City Council and the White Salmon School Board.
