A long, sunny walk on the beach, fun around the campfire, and lots of excellent food packed day 4 full of outdoor school memories. Kid quotes of the day: *holding up a rock* "It's abiotic!", "I'm a tree!" and "yeah....I need to go clean something." Group two heads home Friday!
Outdoor School Update! Today's 3 words are sea lions, night vision, and switcheroo. Group 1 is safely home and Group 2 had a beautiful night to hear sea lions and test our senses on a night hike. Some student quotes from the day include "this food is so good I'm tearing up," "I didn't know mints can spark!" and "eughhh!!!" It was another excellent day at Camp Grey!
6th Grade Outdoor School! Group 2 is on their way!
What do sunshine, sausage, and squid have in common? They were all part of day 2 of outdoor school! A few brief sprinkles did nothing to lessen the fun of hiking, dissecting, and enjoying great food at camp. Group 1 heads home Wednesday and Group 2 journeys to the coast to begin their adventure.
Day 1 of outdoor school was an adventure! We started in luxury bus accommodations, arrived to diagonal rain, and ended with a cozy (indoor) campfire program. It was a memorable kick-off!

Staff and Families,
This morning at approximately 8:00am, law enforcement received a report of a threat of harm directed toward a student at Henkle Middle School. Out of an abundance of caution our school district quickly implemented our safety procedures and secured students and staff safely inside buildings while suspending access to facilities. This “soft lock-down” is in place at Columbia High School, Henkle Middle School and Wallace and Priscilla Stevenson Intermediate School.
Law enforcement arrived within minutes and are working with school administration to determine the credibility of the threat.
We will share more information with families and staff as it becomes available; not later than 9:30am.
Thank you for your understanding.
